about me2.jpg

Hi! I'm Mandy.

I'm the artist behind Lady Dryad, and the person that keeps it going! From the very beginning of the process with collecting fallen tree branches, to the end when my finished creation makes it to your doorstep, I'm the one that makes it happen!

About my process.

Every single piece I make is an original piece of art that I work on individually, from start to finish! I only use naturally fallen tree branches, which I find all over the place, and usually make a scene dragging them back to my car. Every tree branch is cut and sanded before I wood burn (or sometimes paint) the individual wood slices with one of a kind piece of art! Once the artwork is complete, I will finish the wood in various ways to keep them looking pretty, and assemble everything into various necklaces, bracelets, etc. From start to finish, everything I create is unique and made with love.

How did you get started?

I get asked this question a lot! I received my BFA in Painting and Drawing in 2016 and during my time in college I discovered pyrography (wood burning) while working on a sculpture project. After that I was hooked. I started on small wood slices and practiced like crazy for a couple of months until I realized how cute those little pieces looked as necklaces. The light bulb came on above my head and with the encouragement of my awesome hubby, I began plans for Lady Dryad!

Where do you go from here?

I began Lady Dryad in college with my Etsy shop, and since then my little business has been growing each and every year! My immediate plans are to travel the world and experience new things, gaining new inspiration to work off of in the future! Every year I work harder and harder to spread my artwork all over the world and so far so good!
